Disposal Limits & Special Recycling Programs
Because our Prairie Ridge Drop Box facility operates within a limited disposal space, individual loads are strictly limited to 2,000 lbs. or less (approximately 7.5 cubic yards). If your residential or commercial load exceeds this capacity, you will be directed to visit our larger Hidden Valley Transfer Station.
Free E-Cycle Washington Program
Pierce County residents can drop off select electronics at no charge. We accept up to 10 items per visit, including televisions, computers, and computer monitors. Commercial haulers must utilize an approved commercial electronics disposal site.
Mercury Lighting Ban
As of January 1, 2026, we no longer accept mercury-containing lights, including fluorescent tubes, lamps, HID lamps, and UV lamps. Please check with the Department of Ecology for alternative disposal options.
